quick outdoor grow update: the new plant is already getting some early LST.
i like starting low stress training early (not always the case!!), while the stem and side growth are still flexible. the goal right now isn’t to force anything dramatic — just start guiding the plant outward, open up the center, and set the structure before it gets too tall.
this is exactly the kind of small adjustment that makes training easier later. a little pressure now can help create a wider, more manageable canopy as the plant grows. not to mention that the HempHooks can be staked quite easily.
what i’m watching from here:
-
how quickly the side branches turn back up
-
whether the center stays open
-
how the plant responds to the first few training points
-
when it’s time to adjust the hooks and widen things out again
early LST doesn’t need to be complicated. just start gentle, keep an eye on the response, and adjust as the plant tells you what it wants.
slide it. swing it. success.
death to garden wire. 🪝🌱👀💀
