this old photo is a perfect example of a mistake many growers make when learning LST.
the plant is covered in training clips. every branch has been bent down to roughly the same angle. at the time, i thought the goal was to simply pull everything down as far as possible.
but that's not the goal.
the goal of LST is to create an even canopy.
some branches need heavy training. some need light training. some shouldn't be touched at all. every branch should be adjusted based on where it needs to end up, not treated exactly the same.
a plant can have twenty clips on it and still have a poor canopy.
the best LST isn't about how much you bend a branch. it's about where you place it relative to the others.
death to garden wire. 🪝🌱👀💀
